Calling all Utah Foodies to Mist

Let me start by admitting I am not a foodie. My daily menu is pretty limited, and primarily revolves around Cafe Rio. But I am addicted to the tv show Top Chef and all the Cooking Challenges on the Food Network, so when I heard the Mist Project was coming to Salt Lake I had to pass it on.

Chef Gavin Baker, who is regarded as one of the best chefs in the world has opened a traveling restaurant called "Mist". Chef Baker visits an area and after gaining an understanding of the local culinary culture, Gavin will set up a temporary restaurant serving world class dishes.

"For several weeks his Michelin-caliber guerrilla restaurant Mist will showcase the foods, customs, and spirit" of each city.

Sounds cool, right? Mist will be open in Salt Lake January 19-February 19. If you are interested you can get more information and buy tickets here. It also sounds expensive, and it is, at $150 seat. I think you have to think of this as an experience, rather than a meal.

If anyone ends up going I want to hear about it. For those with simpler tastes and thinner wallets - I will meet you at Cafe Rio!
